"RE: 24mm 1.4G"

I bought this lens to use for photography of the Aurora Borealis. Reasons: Fast lens to avoid star trails; well-corrected to produce nice points of light in the star-field even out to the corners; widest available angle of view (at f1.4 aperture)to get lots of sky coverage. Fast aperture allows higher shutter speeds or lower ISO settings, depending on the brightness of the Aurora. There is also the consideration of modern optics and Autofocus to use it in general low-light photography, which made it much more desirable to me than the old manual f2 lenses.
