(Amended) . . . an original owner who purchased the product from an AD in his home country. Slalom is a Canadian national who purchased the gear in Switzerland. Strictly speaking, the international warranty doesn't cover his situation. But Nikon Canada's service manager should feel obligated to honor the warranty IMO. Slalom did not make a grey market purchase, he was/is on long-term contract so Switzerland was/is his temporary home, and he purchased from an AD. All good reasons for Nikon Canada to honor the warranty.
