Just as an aside, I have the same lenses set as you, first used on my D80 and now on my D7000. Do you find your needing more light in slightly challenging situations such as sunrise or sunset where the f/ stop goes to 5.6 and you don't have a very cooperative AF mechanism? Often it's very difficult to focus manually because these cameras don't have some means, like a ground glass image or prism image to use for arriving at accurate focus. I find that the littel green dot never appears and the left/right arrows keep appearing bouncing from one side to the other. Anyone else care to comment? I guess the choice is to get a constant f/2.8 lens, but I just wish Nikon would make one for DX and not have us waste money and weight on an FX pro lens.
