I have a 24mm f2.8 and I quite like it. I did recently pick up a 20mm f2.8 and before doing so read quite a few online reviews of the Nikkor wide angles. Not so much the 28mm mind you. It seems the reviews for the 24mm f2.8 are pretty favourable without leaning into outright enthusiasm. I mean it's not an expensive f1.4 and you can find them secondhand at reasonable prices, I wouldn't expect miracles out of these lenses but they're completely serviceable and capable of some outstanding results used well.
Were I in your shoes I'd get the 24mm over the 28mm simply because 28 is really close to 35mm and if you haven't already got a 35mm f1.8DX for your D7000 then it's well worth considering that lens. The 24mm gives you a FOV of 36mm equivalent on DX which is nicely at the common 35mm focal length.
Good luck with your choice and have fun with your pick
