Didn't know you had Strelitzia in San Diego....

I dont agree about the bokeh but the sheer versatility of that lens is great. I've used one for many years and only found it disappointing at full stretch where mine is always a bit soft.

I am now using the 24-120 f4 on a D800 and finding it is significantly sharper throughout the range. Although it is only 5x as opposed to 11x, most of my general photogrphy occurs at the wider end of the range.
