Nice photos, Chris! As to who does the bashing, I've seen it bashed more than once here on Nikonians. (Don't know if I should have put that post up, but I was stuck at an airport with my laptop in front of me with photos I'd taken in the past few days, which prompted me to do it.)

That's my view on it too, Chris. You said it better than I could. Your photos are great examples!

Agreed. I have lots of other lenses but this one seems to find its way onto my camera a lot, especially when I'm traveling. By the way, and related to some other recent threads on the yet-to-be-seen D400, one of the arguments for a rugged DX camera is the 18-200 (though I will say the lens does not have the build quality of a D300).

Agreed. But as I said, I've seen Many posts here on Nikonians bashing this lens. (I'm back home now, finally, and not in quite as contentious a mood as I was when I made the initial post, and Chris, your photos do a better job of illustrating my point than mine did!)
