I take your point, Brian, but I still think it's a mistake to move this kind of thing away from the D800 forum. Point is that the D800/E, more than any other 35mm format camera is sensitive to the lens you put on it. A crappy lens will show itself right away on this body, and a so-so lens will too. There aren't a whole lot of lenses out there that will let the D800 demonstrate its full potential. This is one of them -- not mentioned in Nikon's technical manual because it wasn't available when the manual was written. I'm sure it's great on the D4, D600, etc., etc., just as it is on my D3, but so are a bunch of other lenses. This one is a perfect match for the D800/E.
And you at least imply that only bodies are important in "camera related forums." Actually a body isn't a camera. It's only a body. It needs a lens before it becomes a camera.
