I might add to that list the Tokina 12-24 f4. Well built and optically good. Not to mention it is a DX, so it is reasonably priced used. I had the 11-16 Tokina, and I do not see much difference between the two lenses. Both are excellent.

If you use a ultrawide FX lens on your DX body, you do lose a lot of edge distortion because of the crop factor. But then you must go wider to overcome that pesky field of view, and that usually means a lot more $$$$.
