I've been using lens cleaning fluid and now pre-moistened wipes for almost fifty years and never noticed any damage to lens coatings. Bear in mind that the two pre-moistened pads mentioned above are tom two the the leading optic/lens companies in the world — Bausch & Lomb and Zeiss.

If you see a pad from Abe's Abrasives, I recommend you pass it up.

And remember, the fluids or pads are not the first line of defense. A blower and a soft brush take care of dust and most dirt. And the front lens surface does not have to be perfectly spotless!

I clean my glass every few months or as needed (my fingers…). The only times I clean daily are when shooting in rocky, desert country; beach and ocean; and when shooting my dogs (they lick the lens…).
