I have the f2.8 Mk1 version which is as sharp as a razor. If the price comes down and I would need the tripod collar ring, then it would still cost me more than I could sell my current model for. I would only go for this if my 70-200mm died, or became to heavy for me.

Looks good for someones first Nikon 70-200mm investment or wants a lighter version of a classic.
