That's interesting. I had envisioned a higher angle when I read your initial message. I do like the angle he used. Since players are often looking up toward the basket, shooting from the floor often produces lovely shots of players' nostrils. The high angle gives a nice look at faces. Maybe I will take the 400/2.8 to a game and give it a try.
I take your point about the 200-400. The reason I opted for the 400/2.8 (I could only get one or the other; budget wouldn't stretch to both) was for available-light shooting at night football games. That one-stop difference is huge in that application.
