Pretty stellar advice here... I appreciate all of it.
I am torn between a mono pod and a tri-pod. I'm not a one dimensional wildlife guy.. I like it all. I may be on a hike and find anything from rodents to Golden Eagles. I see advantages of both the tri-pod and mono-pod. However I've already committed to carrying a lot of weight with this lens. Tri-pods with Gimbal's or Wimberly's ( reasonably priced ones ) are heavy.
Kind of a rock and hard place.. So I am asking here who has a light mobile set up that is rock solid and can help produce clean crisp images in low light ( early morning, early evening).
Maybe I need to suck it up and lay out the cash for higher priced stuff.
