Hmm, I am not sure about which format that was, but I am thinking it was DX. Or maybe it was a comparison of field of view and working distance between FX and DX.

I tend to like tightly framed portraits. I like being personal with my subjects. I want their eyes to reveal their personalities.

Yes, you really need to be able to tailor your style to your subject. Some do not mind a lens close to their space, others do.
