This may look like an odd question. I have a D7000 and use an old Nikon 18-70 lens as my normal walkaround. It is due an upgrade, and I am thinking of the 24-120 - the longer reach is attractive (at the expense of width) and it takes me part down the road of temptation to FX.

However the main aim is to improve my D7000 experience, and I would appreciate comments on the relative quality of the two lenses and their suitability to a DX camera. Many thanks. Tom
