I have the old Nikon 105 d lens. I like it because there is sufficient distance between me and the bees! In fact I would not mind the 200! The old 105D is noisy and I may upgrade. Its wicked sharp and great for portraits. I also use Kenko tubes with it and they work fine, but maintaining or acquiring focus is a challenge. I have done insect shots with a 70-200, and just about all my lenses. But to shoot 8mm bugs I like the 105. It pairs nicely with my D7000.
