Ahhh the 28 f/2. I believe I had and loved that lens back in the film days VERY nice series, I recall really liking that lens. Do you happen to know the name of the shrub with the striking white leaves?
Here's my examples and I probably should have qualified/emphasized that I am seeing flare esp. on the +1 and +2 EV series shots used as input to forming the HDR. So yah, I'm torture testing my poor old 24-70. In some other examples even going with a seven shot series the final one of which is +3 EV which is perhaps too much to ask from any lens.
Here's two Photomatix fusions (did not use tone mapping) and in the first case the +2 EV exposure and in the second example the +1 EV. You can see in the single shots that flare is prevalent. Note I'm less concerned with the ghosting but yah, less would be more there too.
Final HDR image (and this one IS tone-mapped) is the one that defeated me a little. There is flare evident in the final HDR image so it defeated my vision a bit I'd say.
