"RE: Is my 85mm 1.8 AF-D melting?!?"
>Could the sticky residue be from the N80 grip? Were the lens>and body stored in the same bag?>>>Anthony>>The>Moderator Page> and>My>Gallery>>The important things in life are simple; the>simple things are hard.I had my 85 mounted on my F100, a 50 mounted on the N80; I left the N80 out of the bag intentionally because of the stickiness. Both cameras never came into contact at any time. The stickiness from the lens was coming from underneath the rubber focusing ring. When I pressed the rubber ring I could see the glue seeping. Temperature outside was about 90, pretty much the usual here in Florida at this time. I have never experienced this problem with any of my lenses, and the day was not hot enough to cause this to happen. On another unrelated note, my N80 is drying out; it feels less sticky now.
