My first AF camera was the compact Nikon L35 AF in 1983, for my wife. She and the kids dropped it so many times, it had to be replaced with the Nikon L135 AF the following year. I also got a N2020 for my son in 1986. After shooting a long time with FE2 bodies, for my own (and exclusive) personal use I had the Nikon N4004s (in 1989), the N6006 (in 1990) and then the great N8008s (introduced in 1991). It was not until the winter of 1991 that I bought the glorious F4s, almost 5 years after it was out in the market. Then I knew what 'pro body' really meant.
