Well, I can't say my story is as good as yours, but here goes: I started with a minolta AF camera, and shot probably less than 60 rolls with that over a few years. I jumped to digital as soon as I could. Fast forward a few years and the equipment prices on film have fallen so much and my income has come up a bit so I was able to get back into film, this time with an FM2n and an N80.
When Kodak announced that it had discontinued Kodachrome I decided that I'd better get some now and shoot it before it was all gone. I'd never shot it before but its pretty famous stuff. So I think I went onto Ebay and bought a single roll of film. I'm really happy I didn't stock up and freeze hundreds of rolls!
I shot these images using my N80 and Kodachrome. Not posting them to say they are composition masters or anything, just to share a couple of shots from the only roll of Kodachrome I shot in my life, and will probably ever shoot.
I think this roll cost me more than $20 to buy and develop, so I likened the experience to smoking a fine Cuban cigar (not that I have any experience with that.)
