Ordered the D800 and Nikon 24-70f2.8 from B&H. Difficult choice going from dx to fx. But once you press that "order button" their is a sigh of relief.

You'll love the D800. The resolution and dynamic range are stellar especially at lower ISO (dynamic range decreases when ISO increases).
I don't own your 24-70, but it is considered one of the three most desired lenses from Nikon. You may want to consider more Tera Byte storage as your files will be large.

Congratulations!

That will be one of the best "order button" presses you will ever make!
Congratulations - you're going to be truly amazed at the images from your D800. No exaggeration.

Enjoy!!

Darrell Young's book and Thom Hogan's eBook are excellent. Be prepared to spend some time reading. There is a lot of helpful information in them. I might add that one year after getting my D800 I am still learning!

Congrats on your new toy. You are going to love it. Read through some of the threads in this forum. That helped me a lot.

Congrats on you camera and lens! I have had the camera less than a month and the lens about 3 years. This is my favorite lens. It was always on my D700 and I use it as my go to lens. ENJOY!!!
