I'm not sure if anyone has seen this, but there is an article on mansurovs.com that talks about how the sensor of the D800, when combined with sophisticated interpolation software, is capable of tripling the camera's resolution! The example that is shown is simply amazing! Any doubt about me getting a D800 is out the window!

There is no direct link to the article. Just go to www.mansurovs.com and the article is on the home page.

So how does one get the unlock code/procedure? I can't seem to find it on the web.
The files will be ginormous.

Agree happy April fools days to all the Nikon users.... if you look at the pics on the site, the bee pic has very small DOF where as full picture would cause bee pic to all be in focus..... lol good story though....

What April fool's joke? I have the unlock code right here. All you have to do is press the Menu button three times, then hold it down for 108 seconds. At that point a screen opens up allowing you to enter the unlock code:

N12047I83648K329834762O234267N23782392R796U2321L78686E12S1236C231A7411N2343O213N129S6923U7634C8326K237S125B9476U32535Y3458D800

I thought it quite interesting, when I carefully examined the code, that there is a hidden text message in it.

Also, I hear they are developing a camera to brain interface so you can just think about what you want the camera to do and it will happen.

Nikon is so cool!

You forgot to mention that this code must be entered within 30s, or else the camera will permanently go to the D700 mode and provide 12MP files only.
