I was shooting in a studio this morning...nothing unusual. Using a Phottix trigger to fire strobes. I made about 11 shots not very fast in succession when the green light on the bottom right went steady green and I could not view or take any photos. I waited and unusual amount of time, turned the camera off, unplugged the battery, turned it back on and the light was still green. I switched cameras and later the first camera that froze was working again.
Has anyone had this happen?

Here is another thread started that sounds like the same issue that some others and I have experienced:

So far I haven't seen a fix....

I have had a somewhat similar problem. But in my case, the camera froze even before I could take a single picture. As soon as I insert a Kingston 16GB CF card, my D800 freezes. Happens with all my Kingston 16GB CF cards.

I have stopped using these cards in my D800.

Your problem with Kingston is a well known problem.
D800 is very picky on which cards to use.
My freeze only happened once.
I asked the tech support at Nikon service center about it.
They told me that they heard about it but because it is so hard to reproduce they have no idea what might be causing it.
Camera is a computer. Computers freeze once in a while.
