I noticed today, not sure when it happened, that the Nikon D7000 is no longer available on the Nikon Store. Does that mean anything?

Hi Jeremy,
Wrong page. Not sure where you got that one. Look at this one.

The D7000 is alive and well.

It still appears on their camera list but seems to be no longer available from the Nikon Store?

If the camera is still in the Nikon lineup, it's still being manufactured. The D7000 is a popular camera for Nikon so they will continue to manufacture it for a while even after it's replacement is announced. Nikon would not arbitrarily stop producing the D7000 without a replacement.

The D7000 is just not sold at the Nikon Store probably because Nikon want's to sell it through it's retailers. There are plenty in stock everywhere.

No signal of impending doom, just a marketing decision.

I didn't know there was a legal requirement for a manufacturer to offer thier products directly to the public.

I'm sure there is not, but it seems to be the norm.

I'm surprised it isn't listed with a "where to buy" link.

Ken, 480 Sparky, where did you see anyone mention a "legal requirement"?

Hi Charles,

Since neither Ken or 480 Sparky has responded I'll chime in with my understanding of the statement. It was used as "hyperbole".

But it is on the Internet and on Amazon. How can the biggest network and the biggest horse trading site ever be wrong?
