Can someone give us information on the new Mountain Lion OS X from Apple - performance with Lightroom 4 and the 2 major plugins OnOne and Nik ?

On Adobe blogs most comments say there are no issues. Elsewhere I saw one report indicating that the Mac drops into sleep mode very quickly and that a Lightroom batch process was interrupted. My initial thought is to check and if necessary change the sleep time setting.

Nik says that installing their software may be blocked and says they are working on an update. In the meantime, they offer this workaround (third question down). I am guessing that for those of us upgrading the system software, we won't have a problem.

You want to try upgrading first and get back to us?

I installed mac OS10.8 and used LR 4.1. Overall performance on LR4 does not change much. It seems to me a touch better...

However, general performance of MacPro, iMac and MacBook Pro seems better than Lion.

I have only one module of NIK (old color effects 3.0 ??) and it works fine.

Other than that, I use Photomatix Pro, Helicon Focus (and Remote) 64bit and Nikon camera Control and all works good.

One thing is that you need to play with security setting if you have 3rd party or shareware software.

I've had no problems to date with LR4, Photoshop CS6 or the Nik plug-ins. You just need to modify the default security settings if you're installing new versions of the Nik plug-ins, but they function fine. I don't see any performance changes, either positive or negative. All in all, it seems to be a good upgrade - not a big one, but a nice one.
