I'm sure these has been covered more than once, but I can't seam to find it. By use I mean it actually makes the camera run faster.

That is sort of what I was looking for, but not. That test is 4 years old and shows no cap at witch the write speeds in th d700 no long get faster. The fastest card made at the time was a 400x and it was the fastest card for the camera. I don't believe however that there still is no cap to write speeds with the fast cards aviable today.

Come on guys. People crying that this is just a d800 guessing forum, but no love. I'm joking here but seriously, nobody here has but a 400x and 600x (etc)in a 700 And then figured out how many shots they got before they hit the buffer? It's not that technical.

I use the Sandisk Extreme Pro cards (16MB) which are rated at 90 MB/s. I had been using the Sandisk Extreme cards before that. They're rated at 60 MB/s.

I see real difference in card readers pulling the photos on to my computer, but little difference in the D700.

Has anyone had this problem with a card (extreme sandisk 60 speed), the camera (nikon D700) records to the card but will not be recognized by the computer?

No problems with that card or the faster Pro version.

IIRC the number is 45mbps for a D700. After that the extra speed does not matter. I'd also check that Rob Galbraith link to be sure.
