I haven't used Nikon's software in a few years and was wondering if they will bundle NX2 with the D700.

They quit bundling Capture with the D300 and D3 and now only include a trial version in which you would need to buy the license. I don't expect the D700 to be any different in that it will probably only have a trial version. It will be a pleasant surprise if I am incorrect.

My guess is that the 'limited time' software bundling for the D3/D300 was combination of Nikon wanted people to see there images with the new color modes, now called Picture Control (which I love), and getting enough people hooked on the software so they will upgrade when NX2 is finished beta testing.

I have not read anything about software included with the D700 but my guess is it will include a NX2 disk for a 30 day trial.

From the Nikon D700 Product Page:
- Included Nikon ViewNX software makes browsing and organizing your images easy
- Optional photo-editing software, Capture NX 2 allows users quick and easy photo editing

Nikon is stingy with a tool that arguably can get the best out their D700 images.

I figured as much. It was the same when got the D2X. It took a couple of months it seems for Adobe and Nikon to end their quarrel about the SDK kit. I don't anticipate the wait to be very long this time, but I am going to really need something if their is a gap.

I will probably download a 30 day demo if that is the case. Who knows? they might end up getting another converter convert, so to speak
