I've recently acquired a 'flashing' +/- icon. I've know idea how to get it back to it's normal state?

You've probably turned bracketing on. My bracketing function works with the function button, which I think is the default set up. Press the button & turn the rear dial to 0 frames to restore normality.

Thanks Bridget, That's exactly what's happened!!

I was actually wondering why I was having so much trouble shooting a play last night, I put it down to (incorrectly) the vicar wearing black, the professor wearing a white lab coat and the lighting kept changing - Aaaarghh, now I presume I have to readjust the exposures for every 2nd and 3rd pic of the 400 I took last night!!!

Oh well, It's all one big learning curve
