- the UK brochure mentions the function as available only with lenses with a CPU, a limitation not mentioned in the November 2007 D300 brochure.
This may interest manual lens owners.
It may also hint at future lens to camera body developments. Most of the AF cameras use a noisy battery eating magnet system to power dof preview.

Photography is a bit like archery. A technically better camera, lens or arrow may not hit the target as often as it could if the photographer or archer does not practice enough.

The statement in the UK brochure is not correct. I'm currently testing a production-level D700 and it has the same DOF-system as other current Nikon DSLRs.
