Here is a set of sunrise and dawn images I took last week along the Foothills Parkway West outside Townsend, TN. They were taken over 3 mornings; the few days last week when there were some clouds.
All shot with the D800E and 24-70 f2.8. Each is a 5 shot bracket processed in NIK HDR Efex Pro 2.

Dave,

They are all well captured and beautifully presented. If they were mine I would have a hard time figuring which one would be hung in the living room first. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Images, Dave. Great examples of how different Foothills Parkway is every day. Also a great example of why you don't leave when the sun rises above the horizon but stay and continue to shoot. The best layers are always 15-30 minutes after the sun rises.

Thanks. There were about 8-10 photographers out the morning I took that last picture and after the sun rose all but three of us left. It was kind of funny because we all remarked that things might get interesting when the sun rose into the clouds, and they did. And it only lasted a few seconds at that.
