hello guys!!!

I am trying to get myself a p7100, will it be a greta buy or should I go for the p7700?

this will be the camera that I will carry along with me while travelling and when the situation does not allow my d700.

any comments welcome

If you want an optical viewfinder, you will have to get the P7100. If it doesn't matter and cost isn't a factor, the P7700 is probably a better choice. I own the P7000 and it gets along with my D3S very well. I just picked up a Nikon 1 V2 and it will proabably replace the P7000 as my small camera option.

Although (I think) it can be a P&S there are a lot of settings to master and quite a user manual to work through.

I have never taken a JPG with my P7000 - just set it to raw and do any minor tweaking in post - so many of the setting that are only applicable to JPG I have just ignored...

Good luck and I hope you find your P7100 as useful as I have my P7000. BTW just a reminder not to forget your DSLR in the cupboard :>)

Clive

thanks for the comments, any book about these "P&S's" that I should know about?

and most definitely I will not let my trustworthy DSLR back in the bag.

this new camera only means that I will need more hard drive room anytime soon!!!!

thansk!!
