Hello fellow Nikonians! Im hoping someone can provide some guidance. I have a Nikon D50 which is several years old. I was using my camera a few days ago when out of the blue my photos appeared dark. It appears that I am not getting in light through although in some photos you can see a very small thin line at the top of the photo that is being "exposed".

Any suggestions? I am trying to determine if this is a mechanical issue or if a setting accidentally was changed.

Thanks for any help!

Without more information its tough to diagnose a problem such as this.
Shooting conditions for example. outdoors in daylight? dim light with flash?
What shooting mode? Program, aperture or shutter priority or manual mode?
How many shutter clicks on the body?

If the camera has a large number of actuations its quite possible the shutter has some issues.

Also if you happen to be close by, i'm in the northeast corner of the state, i'll offer to meet with you somewhere and take a look at it and help determine a cause.
