On most days I peruse several Nikonians forums, always including this one. Each time I enter I begin to anticipate the excitement that would come from an announcement about NX-3 or equivalent. Each time I'm let down... Kinda like Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football.
Then I realize that I do have and use a fine digital photo editor that only lacks a few features to address a measly couple of a percent of my photos. If nothing happened with improvements, I would hope it would function on newer machines/operating systems as the technology march goes on.
I guess I'm holding onto a kinda faithlike confidence in Nikon, they wouldn't let us down, would they? Of course I'm one of those D300 owners that looks in that forum for news of a "D400." I also am one of those with a great Coolscan 5000 plus the related software that is getting difficult to run with newer operating systems.
Maybe this year NX-3 will appear...

Add the long overdue replacement for the 80-400 lens for a complete wish list.

Of course one downside of a potential CNX3 is that Nik ColorEfex Pro for CNX will likely no longer work. Perhaps there might be a different plug-in architecture that allows "normal" PS/LR plug-ins to work.

But as you say, CNX 2 still does a fine job and I continue to use it daily as my predominant image editor.
