In conclusion the Tamron F4 LD SP is an awesome lens and coupled with the 1.7x TC is as good or better than the Sigma 50-500mm in terms of resolution. Probably should have tried them both at 400mm but to late for that now. However the real star is the Fred Miranda S1 v2 interpolater which increases the image size with only some degradation of image resultion, it cant be the 400mm and 1.7x but beats the Vivitar TC 2x. The Vivitar macro TC was very disapointing image was soft even at 5x7.
