I've been watching a few Ed Burns films this week, (Brothers McMullen, She's the One) - perhaps Nikonians should do a joint-venture with him on his next one: instead of being a screenwriter, he could play a 30 something photographer who chooses his camera over the girl.
If nothing else, this certainly should help your bride to be understand how much she means to you.
We all feel your pain.
(btw, in case it doesn't come through in the post, i'm 'trying' to be humorous)
A ploy you might try: I got my GF hooked on photography. She now understands NAS. HOWEVER there is a downside: She now has a Nikon D300, Nikon D700, and 7 of my lenses. She has taken over my favorite lens, although I've managed to keep the UWAs away from her. But since I got her the D700, she's been eying my 18-35. The sheer size of the 14-24 has her intimidated, so it's safe for now. But I'm afraid it's only a matter of time. Fortunately, she doesn't like the control layout of my D600, or that would be in danger, too.
