As far as I recall it was a guy who traded his M7 Leica for other gear with another guy and after he shipped his M7 he didn't hear back from the scammer, as simple as that. The scammer apparently does not live in the place where the camera was shipped and was going to forward the package to the Philippines. Fortunately, the shipping company was informed in the last minute and withheld the M7 and now it's back for sale on the forum

Sorry about the anecdotal writing style but that's only from memory.
