Impressive as always. Is this image cropped, I suspect not. With the TC2.0 and the 100-400 I can get a crisp image down to about a 30% crop but beyond that image is softer than I would like. From the reports/comparisons Ive seen I suspect the TC2.0 with the 70-200 at 400 is sharper than the 100-400 at 800. If so that may be the quality of the lenses at full extension more than the TC.
PS Also impressed with the way you can clean up an image shot at ISO 6400!

Fri 05-Aug-22 10:23 AMYou are right Jim, not cropped much at all. And yes I would agree with you that the 2.0 would work much better on a f/2.8 lens than a f/5.6. The 70-200 S f/2.8 lens is a dream, as much of their versions of this lens have been, but I love it matched with the Z9. I find the Z9 files clean up very nicely if you expose properly to begin with. I teach still the ETTR method, expose to the right, still and find it stands the test of time. Plus of course Topaz Denoise is like voodoo good!!

I love the images I get with the 2x on the z 70-200. For my use, the images look sharp without any softness. I generally don’t crop more than 50% from my z6.
