Z7 ii is shipping

I picked up my Z7ii yesterday. This morning a minor firmware update was released for the Z6ii (1.02) and Z7ii (1.01). Both installed without issue.

FWIW, I upgraded the firmware on my FTZ adapters to 1.1 last July when the firmware update was released. I did not need to do anything updates on the Z6ii to use the FTZ.

I thought I read somewhere that firmware updates could done with SnapBridge on the Z6 II and Z7 II. I would be interested to know if anyone has done this and how was the experience. My Z7 II is on order but I don’t expect to see it in 2020. It’s been that kind of year.

Sounds like a wonderful camera I have one on order locally, San Jose California. I didn’t get my order filled in the first shipment hoping mine will come in the next shipment before the end of year.

Last night my wife asks me about the new camera I wanted. I have done some research on the mirrorless cameras from Nikon, but really had not voiced a great desire for one. After all, I already want a new pickup, a new MacBook, and a new iPAD pro. I thought a new camera may be to much. So guess what I've been thinking of since then. I have a D810, which I am quite happy with. But, that hinged live screen electronic view finder would have been helpful this morning while I was getting some waterfall shots.
Does it ever end?
I am glad they are starting to ship out the new Z's.
Maybe I'll have better luck with a new camera than I did with the truck, the MacBook, or the iPad.

Looking forward to playing with a couple of old prime lenses from my childhood. I understand they may work with the FTZ adapter.

Still waiting on my local camera shop. They got two camera's in and I'm next up on the list.

I picked up my Z7II on Monday, thanks to Burke Seim at Service Photo in Baltimore, MD.

A second batch of Z7ii cameras is shipping in the US. I got word that my NPS order is on the way to my dealer.

I picked up a Z6 II kit today from a local shop. They said they got it in 2 days ago. They are expecting to get a Z7 II kit on Monday.

Got a couple hours to start using my new Nikon Z 7ii. Feels like a steep learning curve. My last big Nikon upgrade was the D3. In the mean time I've been spoiled by the light weight and almost always with me iPhone.

Took a short walk in the woods with my tripod/Nikon. I needed to convince myself what the Z 7ii could do under low light conditions and the kit lens. For perspective, those are Redwood trees in the image. I was impressed:

f/20.0, 30", ISO 400, 70mm. Highly cropped.

Love the forums. Look forward to honing my skills.
