When using a mirrorless camera (say, a Z6) to photograph a stream or a waterfall, is it possible to actually 'preview' the effect of the shutter speed?

Normally, most people shoot moving water at several slow shutter speeds and later on decide which gives the best result for what they have in mind. I would like to know for sure, which shutter speed will give me the effect I am looking for, before I press the shutter release button.

Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks.
