Finding missing photos in LR

Have some missing photos that my Adobe LR CC will not process. My Windows photo library has them and when looking by way of file explorer they are there. When I go into lightroom to update the file location and go to the location in file explorer the photos are not there. I get the There is no Match. These missing photos might be copies of the original if that makes a difference with LR. Other than that why can I look them up in Windows Photo Library and in File Explorer but not find them in LR when trying to update file location?

I just connected a bunch of copied files and folders recently. It was very easy. The files and folders had been moved to an external drive and the names were exactly the same.Eric Bowles

Once I figured out what the parent folder was then went back into LR folder panel. highlighted the empty file and clicked on Library in upper left corner and then clicked on synchronize. Then checked box that asked to import missing photos. Once I did that my missing photos were brought back into LR with all their data. These programs are getting too complicated these days.John Meiers
