benttop Nikonian since 15th Jul 2016Sat 01-Jul-17 11:49 PMI have it here, and I've used the AI filter a couple of times. It has a strength slider and you have to make sure to watch the entire image as you push that slider up. You can get some artifacts that are not very intelligent if you aren't paying attention.
That said, if you take care, it's a pretty nice filter. I also purchased some additional presets that I like very much - one in particular adds golden hour color to your image, which may work well on certain images.
I've also got their HDR product and the new denoise product, but not much testing on those yet.
If you get any of these, make sure you choose to include the Plug-In setup when it asks - you'll be able to use it from within Lightroom or Photoshop.

I find the presets to be a pretty good way to start and I like the fact that you can then go into the adjustment sliders of the filters used in the presets and customize them infinitely, adding others too. I also like the "history" tab which keeps a complete record of everything you have tweaked, and this is very useful in establishing presets of one's own and subseqent tweaking. I also like the masking capabilities for very local adjustments - and it's all very intuitive to use. The healing/erase tool is very very good and I really like the Top and Bottom lighting filter - so simple to use!
I was in touch with Macphun too (and they were very reponsive) to question what they did for RAW conversion and, for me at least, that is a bit of a negative as they tweek things that I would prefer to do in Optics Pro (noise and tone corrections especially). No problem though because I can bring the RAW conversion from Optics Pro into Luminar as a TIFF (not a DNG), (or into LR6) and then use the power of Luminar to create the look, or make the corrections, I want.
I'm definitely, for the moment anyway, incorporating Luminar into my workflow as my main editor (post RAW conversion).
The AI filter seems great for those quick and easy fixes, provided, as you say, you don't overcook things - which is a reason I like their presets, as they are quite conservative to start with. Oh, and I also like the "workspace" concept - I've set up customized ones for Landscape and Product photography so far, and it's a great way to unclutter the interface, just to have most of the essential tools you are likely to use on a particular project.
I think this is a very promising App.
