Rare Vintage Nikon Fisheye in need deep cleaning

I own a Nikon/Nikkor 6mm f/5.6 fisheye lens. It was made around 1971 and only about a hundred were made. Besides being rare, its claim to fame is its 220 its degrees of coverage. It actually sees behind itself. It works but it is dusty and probably has some fungus. I would love to have it professionally cleaned. Does anyone know of any repair shops that would disassembly the lens and clean it and reassemble it. It has fixed focus and the only moving part is the aperture and filter ring. All works but it is dusty. Nikon will not touch it.

Thu 25-May-23 10:52 PMYour first call should be to Authorized Photo Service. They do excellent work and have been a primary resource for many Nikonians for many years. Given that there is no repair necessary, only disassembly and cleaning, there is a good chance they can do the work — and they can likely give you a yes or no over the phone.

mcurrie Registered since 06th Jan 2017Fri 26-May-23 10:44 AMDistance might be a factor here, but one other possibility if APS doesn't work out might be Vermont Camera Works. This is a small outfit in Pittsford, VT, which has done work on Nikon lenses as well as other equipment for many years, and can give estimates on line. I've had several lenses cleaned and tuned up here. -
