I can just agree. The F-mount VR was already a pretty nice lens I enjoyed mostly for landscapes. As you mentioned, IQ suffered a bit on close-up distances.
The new Z 2.8 is just amazing already wide open at all focus distances and all focal lengths. Next to landscapes I also used it now quite a bit for product shots and I have to say that it's almost too sharp. :wink: And as a bonus it's smaller and lighter than the F-mount VR version.
I'm very happy I traded the VR version with the Z 2.8 one.
