I think it's a trial balloon. 46mp @ 20fps = 960MB/sec through the image pipeline and onto XQD. That's beyond the ability of any current XQD card. Maybe it can only do 20fps in JPG, which of course would be much more feasible. Still, 46mp strains the rest of the image consumption chain - meaning past the camera.
