I did some sample video clips today to see what my options might be when I shoot Video in earnest. The first problem that presented itself was that I could not get the Remote Cord to start a Video Clip but had to use the little red button thingy.
A little reading back at home produced the knowledge that to use a remote cord to initiate a video recording the Shutter Release had to be re-programmed to "Record Movies". I am using my U2 slot which is Manual Exposure with Auto ISO for this purpose and a little test this evening proved that the remote cord now works OK. I have saved that configuration to U2 and it has "stuck".
The second problem, which was not obvious until the clips were downloaded, was that in the outdoor scenario today the windy conditions were causing considerable movement of the trees and bushes in the shot and and caused hunting of the focus. Manual Focusing seems to be required for this purpose.
If anyone has any other suggestions then please, let's hear them?
