Here's what I do with my Z6ii: For stationary wildlife, Single point AF-C. If the wildlife keeps moving so that I can't always keep the focus point on it I switch to Dynamic 9-point. Fast- or erratic-moving wildlife. AF-C Wide Small or Wide Large. These two modes kind of replace the Group AF mode in the DSLR's.
Matrix metering, and I adjust in the viewfinder with exposure compensation as required.
