Thank you all for the great feedback!

This was sooo well done! I thoroughly enjoyed my "stroll" through the art gallery of fantastic photographs. I consider joining the Nikonians group, one of my wisest photography investments. I have gotten so many pointers, viewed interesting and informative webinars, browsed through countless photographs and received kudos from photographers whom I consider to be outstanding in their craft. All of that since February!! Thank you, so much, for your willingness to share your ideas and knowledge of photography, all the while creating an all inclusive website so well and professionally maintained.

This is fantastic work guys. Makes one proud to be a Nikonian. Congratulations to all exhibitors. Well done to all ! It would be inetersting to learn about the software involved in such a virtual exhibition and the costs involved. Thanks again to the organizers. Christian.

Wonderful, If ever Motivation was needed this tour has given it...So many Individual memories, and as usual in Photography the hours of not quite getting it right, then that Moment in time when it all clicks !!( No pun intended). To all concerned in putting this Tour together to be viewed in the safety of Our own homes, A Huge thankyou.. Onward and Upwards.. Trevor

I enjoyed the exhibition. I wonder how this online exhibition was created. Was it created with a commercial product? Or something else. I think it is something that might work in our camera club, where we are looking for ways to have virtual exhibitions. Thanks!
Zbyszek Pietras (mejker) on April 28, 2021
Great work. It is a new way to present the photo works. But navigating is sometimes confusing. Looking this way needs more time for celebrating works.
Rocco Wilson (CaptRoc) on April 28, 2021
This is a GREAT way to observe photography...you see it...you move on...then you go back to look at it again. Like an actual artistic studio. OUTSTANDING!

I love the gallery format. It allows a very near-real exhibition experience.
Paul Cassidy (PCassidy) on April 21, 2021
Great work thanks for posting this
J. Ramon Palacios (jrp) on April 20, 2021
The easiest way to see it all is: Click on the top right icon and select "Enter Full Screen" and "Start Tour" and let it go.
Martin Turner (Martin Turner) on April 20, 2021
This worked great for me in full screen view. It really enhanced the pictures.
Ian Crook (Pics905) on April 18, 2021
Outstanding idea, and a great way to present the photographs.
Scott T. Smith (scosmi51) on April 18, 2021
I started the tour manually but found it a little hard to navigate. I then tried the automated tour and loved it, though I'd like to see a little more time for each image. The images are all amazing and I'm very pleased and honored to have been included. Many thanks to all who made this possible.

I echo Mick Klass's comments. Although the app was fun to use, I found it challenging to navigate through the pictures and distracting. I don't think this is as good a way to view images as the typical album display consisting of a strip of thumbnails at the top or bottom of the window and a full-sized display of the selected image. Or even just a slide show. I would appreciate it if the captions provided more information, for example, where and in what circumstances each image is taken. Same comment applies to the email we get each week showing selected images.

Awesome work in 2020 by our Nikonians. I am delighted to be included in the Exhibition, too. I like the Exhibition method of presentation and while it took a couple of tries, I have come to love the presentation as a really remarkable way to exhibit our images and then share them with family, friends and other photographers that I know here in the Richmond, Virginia, USA. Thanks so much for doing this and it certainly honors our fine community and its 20 year longevity. Well done!!
Mick Klass (mklass) on April 17, 2021
While technically glitzy, I do not find this better than a simple image gallery. It is screwy to navigate and hard to tell if you have seen everything. The image presentations, themselves, are not as good a a traditional online gallery. Sorry, but I prefer the traditional on-line gallery. -Mick

This is really great! There are a few minor navigation issues as mentioned already, but I like that there are multiple ways to navigate/view the artwork. I found myself getting lost a few times, but that also happens to me in real art galleries :-). I like the ability to just wander around aimlessly. The photos are absolutely outstanding! There are so many that I missed, so it’s good to be able to see them all in one place. I’m truly honored to be included and part of Nikonians. I imagine this took a bit of work, so kudos to those who made this happen. I saw a forum post recently about highlighting winners from past years. This would be a great way to do this! Thanks to all!

Thanks everyone so far for the nice comments, and yes, if one thing stands out it's the enormous high quality of works and the talent of our Nikonians! Please share the link with your family and friends so everyone can enjoy it :)

Excellent virtual show feels like as if we are standing and watching. Congratulations to all winners
David Summers (dm1dave) on April 17, 2021
FYI - This page is public, please share the gallery with your family and friends :)

(Edited by jrp Saturday, 17 April 2021 ) It took quite an effort but we thought you would like this exhibition format to present The Best of Nikonians 2020 Winners work. Very glad to hear you appreciate it.
Tom Davison (tomdavisonart) on April 17, 2021
Wow, what an amazing collection. I love the presentation in gallery form. Thanks to all who gave their time and energy to facilitate the show!
David Summers (dm1dave) on April 17, 2021
Thanks to everyone for your comments and feedback! The work in this gallery is nothing short of amazing. We have so much talent in this community.

I enjoyed watching the very very beautiful photos in this way. Well done photographers! and Nikonians team John
William Middleton (wrmiddleton) on April 16, 2021
This form of presenting a gallery of images is absolutely superb!! It truly allows the viewer to engage with the images as if really walking through a gallery, seeing the images from varying distances and angles, experiencing the images in a very personal manner. Many thanks to all those who made this possible - it is really fantastic!!
Carol Freshley (PhotoSpydie) on April 16, 2021
WOW! This is a very impressive effort. While I imagine changes may be made, this brings together excellent images in a format that allows me to see images that I very much enjoyed before and to see some new ones that I missed. Having them all together like this is a wonderful contribution to the website and testimony to Nikonian talent. Thanks so much to the creative people who put it together.
Bo Stahlbrandt (bgs) on April 16, 2021
@Dubya_b - thanks for your feedback. Yes, there are many ways to showcase excellent photographs. We have them in this format and you can also select the "Guided Tour" in the exhibition for an automatic show. You can also use the "Slide show" format in the Nikonians Galleries if you want. You find that function by selecting "The Winners" in the Galleries top menu, then click on the first image, then click "Slide show" top right area. Not a MS PPT slide show though :-)
Russell Whittemore (rosewood_ltd) on April 16, 2021
My bad - I didn't see the "Start Guided Tour" feature, so that's squared away :).
William B McGinnis (Dubya_b) on April 16, 2021
My preference is a slide show. Someone put a lot of time in developing the gallery presentation and deserve the recognition.
Bo Stahlbrandt (bgs) on April 16, 2021
@nevan - thanks for your comments :-) There is no "birds view" of the exhibition, which could be helpful. @Jeff_D - You made some fellows their day I am sure! :-) @Dpoiree - Thanks for your feedback. You may want to try out the list of artworks in the exhibition - see menu item for that when in exhibition. The images are also all listed in our galleries under the menu "The winners" https://images.nikonians.org/gallery/c-win/ @rosewood_ltd - great feedback and thanks for the kudos :-)
Russell Whittemore (rosewood_ltd) on April 16, 2021
I think it is an excellent idea. If you have a "Best of" image, then we are saying it is absolutely gallery-worthy. So the next logical step is to well, have a gallery. I think the concept is a winner all the way around. I like the look and the overall aesthetic chosen. That said, I would see this as a version 1.0, with room for growth. Navigation is problematic and it is quite easy to get disoriented. I think Geoff's idea has merit and would add that a thumbnail map with cursor showing location within the Gallery would be useful as well. For those who don't want to "walk" the Gallery, I would suggest a link to a conventional slide show. In a similar vein, a preprogrammed walk-through movie with pause ability would also be a feature to consider. One click and you are taken on the tour. It's a well thought-out concept which we should try to fine tune going forward. Well done!
Daniel Poiree (Dpoiree) on April 16, 2021
Is it possible to simply view the photos without the need to navigate a virtual gallery that takes up part of the screen? Are the same photos viewable elsewhere? (As much as I think the virtual gallery is an interesting idea, it seems to detract from simply being able to view the photos without a lot of unnecessary navigation.) The photos I looked at were beautiful!
Jeff Daum (Jeff_D) on April 16, 2021
What a great virtual gallery set up. Very enjoyable 'walking around' and viewing each piece of art. Its an honor to have one of my images displayed with such a variety of creative work. Thanks Nikonian Team!

Just a few words to resume my feelings after my visit to the exhibition. I am very proud to be a Nikonian. I have seen what Nikonians are capable of. The colours and pictures are amazing. The visit can be made easier. It is the first time I have visited an online exhibition, but to navigate along is not that easy. If there is a way to help us have an overview of where we are moving, that would help. Cheers Ned
Bo Stahlbrandt (bgs) on April 16, 2021
@GBaylis, thanks for your feedback, much appreciated! :-) We are reading all input we get here even if we may not address it specifically in response.
Geoff Baylis (GBaylis) on April 16, 2021
What a great idea and a lovely way to represent the winners' images. A couple of comments about navigation: I think it would be good to be able to click on the floor plan and go straight to that point and I would find navigation with the cursor more intuitive if it dragged the view rather than the camera (i.e. opposite to what it does now).
