Adobe Photoshop CS2 - The Clone Stamp Tool
Article
64 of 100
For
many photographers the Clone Stamp Tool is maybe the most
important digital image editing tool they have. How else could
you give a teenager clear skin and make garbage dump look
like the city park (or the other way around if you have an
evil sense of humor).
The
tool seems simple on the surface but it has a thousand combinations
of variables that can make a photograph (or rather the subject
of the photograph) into a work of art.

Choosing
the Clone Stamp Tool - straight or pattern version (I'm a
straight kind of guy)

Some
of the Brush variations, you can also create custom brushes
and set hardness. Brush size varies from 0 to 2,500 px. There
are also Modes to pick from, which are normal, opaque, etc.
Opacity and Flow vary from 0 to 100%.

Notice
the small blemish next to the Clone Stamp target (set by selecting
the Option button and clicking on the area you want to clone).

The
blemish has been removed, since the paint job is somewhat
uneven, the touch-up should also be just as uneven or it would
look phony.

The
beginning of a more obvious cloning job.
A perfect clone has been produced. A section of an image can
also be cloned from a second photographic image file or graphic
image file and moved to the image file you are working on.
