Adobe Lightroom Beta 3 - Additional resolution control when
exporting photos
Article

Adobe
Lightroom now has additional export resolution tools available.
Resolutions and Constrain Sizes are open ended but I would
reccomend using common sense when applying resolution changes
(especially in the up-res direction), it may look real flashy
in the movies and on TV but you can't really squeeze something
out of a photographic image that wasn't there in the first
place.
File formats supported are JPEG, PSD and TIFF.
Color Spaces supported are sRGB, Adobe RGB
(1998) and ProPhoto RGB.

Adobe
Lightroom Export Dialog Box

The
resulting image from the Export action above. (108 KB)

The
same image reduced in Photoshop instead - resized, unsharp
mask, saved to Web JPEG 60. (92 KB)
Your
results may vary but for the moment my tests tell me to stick
with Photoshop CS for producing jpeg images for web use. There
are of course a great many variables to play with and Adobe
Lightroom is still in Beta but (like I say, for the moment)
I would double check every proceedure with a tried and true
alternative.
P.S.
Please do not get upset if your personal experience and views
are different from my own. These opinions are mine exclusively
and do not reflect the views or policies of any of the manufacturers
mentioned in these articles ...... George
