Adobe Lightroom Beta 3 - Auto import or Hot Folder for tethered
shooting
Article

It
is now possible to automatically import files from a Hot Folder
for tethered camera shooting. The topic is already being actively
discussed on the Adobe Lightroom user forum and suggestions
are already being made on how to improve the function in the
next release.
Currently
images automatically appear in the film strip but have to
be clicked on manually to appear in the image viewing area.
Studio photographers would like to have the process automated
so that clients can view the most current image without anyone
having to touch the computer. It seems that this process is
already under development and will probably be implemented
in the next release of Adobe Lightroom.
There
is also a lot of discussion about how to use two monitors
for this process but different photographers seem to have
different needs, so no consensus has been reached yet.

The
Watched Folder is the folder that contains the tethered camera
images.

Multiple
file naming options and a full range of Metadata information
can be included in the automatically downloaded image files.

Develop
settings and keywords can also be applied to the automatically
downloaded image files.
