Adobe Lightroom - Develop Module - Detail - De-Noise
Article
38 of 100
The
images below are taken with the notoriously noisy Panasonic
DMC-LX1 and the Leica D-LUX 2, two very fine and very small
cameras that can produce excellent RAW image files.
The
results of the tests below are a little vague to me, so I
have to apologize if I am not getting something right and
will update this page as soon as I figure out what I am doing
wrong.
Personally
I kind of like a little noise in some images, it reminds me
of grain when shooting with High Speed Ektachrome and Tri-X
black & white film. De-noise filters tend to make the
noise kind of mushy and blurry which to me is less appealing
then a distinct and sharp noise. But as I said before I could
be using this function in the wrong way so I will investigate
further and update this page with my findings.
